Jordan and Kathy Shields have been raising two of their great-grandchildren for twelve years and counting. During this time, Jordan received his MA and MFA in Creative Writing while continuing to run a large business.

His book, UNINTENDED JOURNEY: A SKIPPED-GENERATION STORY began as a writing assignment, but turned into a quest to help other skipped-generation families form a community where they can collaborate, communicate and commiserate with each other, to better help themselves and the children they are surprisingly raising.
